Twin pregnancy with the onset of preterm labor during 25th week of pregnancy causing the mother to present at Labor and Delivery where she was found to be 2-3 cm dilated. An emergency c-section was performed. During the c-section, the team struggled to deliver the second twin, who suffered serious injuries during the delivery, resulting in profound brain damage, including the inability to walk or speak. The case settled before trial.
